ABOUT THE JOURNAL
The Bhutanese Journal of Agriculture (BJA) founded in 2017 is published by the Agriculture Research and Innovation Division (ARID), Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. The Journal of Agriculture is registered with the ISSN International Centre, Located in Paris 75003 (France), 45 rue de Turbigo.
It is an online open access English language journal on Agriculture and financed by the Royal Government of Bhutan. It is published annually. BJA provides a platform for Bhutanese researchers to publish and share their research findings, innovations, and disseminate their technical contributions in the field of Agriculture. BJA aims to drive innovations, track progress and build credible knowledge and information that are useful for policy makers, students and to the broad audience of the farming sector.
The BJA focuses mainly on original and innovative scientific research relevant to sustainable development of agricultural sector in Bhutan. It encourages publication of research findings on Climate Smart Agriculture, climate change and its influence of agriculture sector, innovations and technologies contributing to the transformation of mountain agriculture, contemporary issues and solutions of the agriculture sector, value chains and socio-economic aspects. Further, BJA also encourages papers that address the interest of scientific community in agriculture, and cross-cutting themes including markets, biodiversity, irrigation and water, soils, farming systems that generate knowledge and information and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development goals. BJA also invites selected topical and policy reviews when there are critical needs.
The journal article structure conforms to scientific standards. Results are critically analyzed and objectively presented. The articles are reviewed by experienced reviewers who have long field experiences in the agriculture sector and co-reviewed jointly by team of reviewers during the annual BJA review meeting organized by the BJA Editorial Board supported by the DoA. The standard guide to authors of BJA is available in the journal webpage and BJA does not charge any fee for submission of articles.
